The Harriet and Ronald Lassin Newborn/Infant Intensive Care Unit (N/IICU) at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia utilizes the latest technology to provide care for critically and chronically ill newborns and infants. Our nurses are part of an incredible team that includes top neonatologists and pediatric surgeons. You'll play an essential role in providing the best care for a child, while working with cutting-edge solutions. N/IICU nurses are active participants in cutting-edge research in neonatology, surgery and pediatric subspecialty care, along with supporting deliveries in our Special Delivery Unit. The N/IICU is currently 100 beds spread over 5 individual units, each with its own manager and leadership team. Applications to this requisition include all 5 NICU units. This requisition may fill multiple positions. Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available. Unit populations are as follows:
- NICU West 1- 17 bed unit - cares for all surgical diagnoses (gastroschisis, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, omphalocele, tracheoesophageal fistula, etc.)
- NICU West 2- 24 bed unit - cares predominantly for surgical diagnoses but cares for mixed medical population as well
- NICU Central- 12 bed unit - cares for any surgical overflow, mixed medical population and any patients that might need peritoneal dialysis therapy
- NICU East- 24 bed unit- mixed medical population and also cares for our chronic lung disease population (patients coming to CHOP for airway evaluations, potential trachs)
- NICU Northeast- 24 bed unit - cares for mixed medical population, chronic lung disease population and the preemie core team/developmental care team- any micropreemies (approximately 20-25 patients per year) that are admitted to NICU would go to the Northeast Unit
