Partner with the best

As a Machinery Diagnostics Engineer, you are tasked to provide customers service solutions to address critical rotating machinery assets, protection, and monitoring system. This will include evaluating machinery condition based on vibration analysis.

As a Machinery Diagnostic Services Field Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Diagnosing machinery problems based upon: vibration data, operational data, and customer communications
  • Building relationships with customers to provide a high-level of service delivery, becoming their trusted advisor for their rotating equipment health
  • Traveling to customer sites to provide supporting service
  • Writing technical reports providing conclusions and recommendations for customer equipment following each assignment.
  • Defining KPI's to analyze and measure performance to propose improvements and action plans
  • Applying Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures in all situations to ensure compliance is maintained
  • Overseeing preparation of invoices, technical documents, and manufacturing records for orders, ensuring compliance with internal documentation system


Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical recommended) from an accredited college or university (or 6+ years of applicable industry experience)
  • 3+ years of industry experience in either the Power Generation industry, Chemical Plants, Refining, Metallurgical, or other similar industries
  • Display an advanced mechanical aptitude and experience with rotating equipment found throughout the Power Generation industry, Chemical Plants, Refining, Metallurgical, or other similar industries
  • Be able to travel regionally to work with customers on-site up to 80% of the time
  • Have a passport (or able to obtain a passport) and hold a valid driver's license

The annual pay scale for this position is between $74,800.00 - $160,900.00.

Candidates for this role (office-based/ hybrid/ remote) must be located in or near the locations displayed above. The pay range/scale displayed above represents Baker Hughes' good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position at the time of this posting and applies to the possible locations for this position. Baker Hughes will issue a non-bias competitive offer; the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hires, full-time salaries in some U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. Where an applicant will ultimately fall within the pay range/scale depends on a variety of factors, including, for example, geographic work location, skillset, qualifications, internal pay alignment, level of experience, and demonstrated performance over time. Please keep in mind that the range stated above is the full base salary range for the role and does not include other forms of compensation. Your recruiter can share more about the pay range for this position during the hiring process.

You will be eligible to participate in Company-sponsored benefit programs, including health & welfare programs and the Thrift Plan (401k). You will have a choice of coverage options that best suit your needs. Coverage options and contribution amounts are related to your benefit elections, base salary level, and specific requirements of each of these plans.

You will be eligible to participate in the Baker Hughes FullStream Short-term incentive program applicable for the above position. The actual payout for your short-term incentive award will be based on company and individual performance and is contingent upon Baker Hughes achieving pre-determined financial results.

This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which can be found here, and is further eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses subject to the terms of the applicable benefit plans or policies.
