Transamerica is organized into three distinct businesses. Job Description Summary
This is a leadership role responsible for stimulating Transamerica Agency Network (TAN) growth by expanding key products and services across TAN distribution platforms and developing agent and management skills and capabilities.Job Description
Responsibilities
- Drive productivity through product and market expansion and skill development. Establish growth and developmental strategies and allocates resources to achieve results.
- Leverage and coordinate organizational resources within TAN, Transamerica, and United Financial Services (UFS).
- Manage sales support and developmental functions for TAN. Implement operating procedures in alignment with annual budget with latitude to determine how to achieve objectives within budget.
- Consult with divisional leadership and senior management to identify Field needs, allocate resources, and align costs and benefits.
- Support build-out of market expansion through specialization and teaming, leveraging product strategies in FFIUL, MedSup, FIA, TFA, Employee Benefits, and UFS.
- Plan, organize, and oversee the development of sales support programs for audiences at all levels of the TAN field organization.
- Coordinate the use of internal resources, external consultants, and vendors to customize programs to meet TAN needs.
- Analyze sales and sales support data against baselines to determine program effectiveness and return on investment (ROI).
- Coach, develop, and manage performance of sales desk manager, sales desk specialists, and training and development teams.
- Represent TAN inside and outside the organization to develop relationships and secure resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business field or equivalent experience
- Ten years of insurance/financial services distribution experience, including sales/marketing experience in the financial services/insurance industry
- Five years of experience in training and leadership, managing individuals and teams
- Extensive knowledge of the agency distribution system
- Advanced communication, presentation, influencing, and relationship building skills for presenting to a wide variety of audiences and gaining buy in and commitments
- Broad knowledge of product and distribution systems
- Life and health insurance licenses
- Proficiency in using MS Office tools and the ability to learn/adapt to new technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree and/or industry certifications
- Field sales and/or field management experience
- FINRA Series 6, 63, and 65
- Career and independent agency experience
Working Conditions
- Office or hybrid office/remote environment
- Frequent travel (up to 50%)
