Job overview:

Schneider is seeking a Senior Logistics Purchasing Manager in Green Bay to work with internal and external parties to develop an overall procurement strategy and operating plans. The Senior Logistics Purchasing Manager will have a deep understanding of customers' supply chains and objectives and how they measure success.

Responsibilities:

Lead a team of procurement leaders.
Establish long- and short-term strategies and actions that ensure compliance with operating plans and targets.
Drive procurement system improvements to increase automation.
Establish strong working relationships with supply chain leaders and transportation providers to ensure cost optimization and risk mitigation.
Participate in the selection process of suppliers and manage supplier performance.
Oversee metrics and lead conflict resolution when goals aren't being met.
Be involved in industry groups to shape initiatives and stay current with industry trends.

Skills and qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
A minimum of 5 years of procurement, transportation or logistics experience.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent leadership skills.
Strong understanding of enterprise technology tools that enable carrier qualifications, contract management and procurement execution.
