Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a full-time coordinator to work in the reading and writing center as a laboratory instructor and manage the overall operation of the reading and writing center.
Essential Duties
The following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position.
- Manages the overall operation of the reading and writing center and teaches and works in the writing center as a laboratory instructor tutoring students, with a combination of teaching and lab time equaling approximately 30 hours per week
- Keeps informed of industry trends, college policies and procedures, and campus programs; communicates and consults with his/her supervisor about unusual or major activities; and maintains effective relations with the campus community and partners
- Provides budget input, and inventories and orders reading and writing center supplies
- Serves on appropriate college wide committees
- Contributes to the annual and five-year comprehensive department assessment process as per the college assessment plan
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Master's degree in English or a relevant field
- Three years of related work experience teaching reading and/or writing courses or reading and writing experience
- Strong computer skills
- Budget management skills
- Preference will be given to applicants with college teaching experience
Supplemental Information
This is a full-time exempt position with excellent fringe benefits. The starting salary will likely range from $60,200 to $68,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
