The IP Manager will be responsible for leading the IP Administrators and Specialists, overseeing staffing and procedures to ensure that the needs of the IPTS practice are met.
What You’ll Do:
Supervises and advises the IP Administrators and Specialists on all aspects of their positions.
Coordinates coverage during staff absences.
Oversees day-to-day workflow. Serves as a resource to IP Attorneys, Science Advisors, and IP Administrators for IP related questions regarding administrative and procedural matters.
Works with IP Senior Operations Manager and HR to interview and select IP Administrators and Specialists.
Develops and implements training/integration programs and onboarding procedures for the IP team.
Works with IP Managers and Director to produce documentation of the policies and procedures of the patent prosecution practice.
Provides ongoing training and support for IP Administrators and Specialists, fielding questions and addressing any performance concerns.
Works on additional projects as directed by the IP Director.
Who You Are:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
10+ years of experience in an IP environment, preferably in a large law firm.
5+ years in a management role.
Strong knowledge of US and International patent and trademark rules and electronic filing systems. Familiarity with CPI, iManage, and IPDAS preferred.
Strong management skills, including ability to direct staff and maintain a positive team atmosphere.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to travel periodically, as needed, among regional IP offices.
