Position Summary:
The Logistics Lead Planner supports the Logistics Supervisors in delivering superior customer service by developing and aligning tactical plans that leverage standard processes and eliminate waste across multiple functions i.e., Full-Service Operations, Distribution, Merchandising and Sales. This position drives profitable growth by engaging and partnering with the Sales, Delivery, and Warehouse teams to provide efficient and effective Logistics Planning Services. The Logistics Lead Planner supports a culture of Operational Excellence, leads by example, and utilizes a continuous improvement approach to Direct Store Delivery (DSD). This role will have a reroute/strategic route planning focus.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Ensure Logistics Planners build tactical Direct Store Delivery (DSD) plans in order to maximize productivity level, minimize out of stocks, and provide superior customer service
- Provide planning coverage for route planning team
- Support planner balance workload between development of annual strategic plans and daily execution of tactical plans
- Collaborate across the Sales and Operations teams to ensure alignment with the Go to Market strategies and identify future improvement opportunities
- Maintain working knowledge of all department IT applications and SOPs
- Ensure team is adhering to and optimizing available methodologies, tools, and resources
- Manage and consistently achieve key performance metrics that demonstrate the effectiveness of the department and alignment to corporate objectives
- Identify new opportunities across the business, the team and through the use of tools
- Other projects or duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree and 3 plus years of related experience or High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) and 6 plus years of specific experience
