Responsibilities
This position is responsible for working on assigned projects as well as maintenance items. Preparing technical requirements documentation, writing and documenting code, debugging technical issues, providing QA, and assisting in creating support documentation for applications are examples of tasks you will be performing. The following are IT intern positions available:
AI/Machine Learning Intern
Use your understanding of machine learning to tackle meaningful technical problems
Collaborate with ML Architect and product development teams to build machine learning products
Prototype and implement appropriate ML algorithms, tools, and pipelines
Information Security Intern
Assist in developing and delivering IT security awareness programs to educate employees about security best practices.
Provide guidance and training to employees regarding risk management procedures and policies.
UX Intern
Advocate UX throughout the design, content creation, and experience development process.
Leverage digital personas, user journeys, mental models, reports, and other strategic UX artifacts.
Backend Developer Intern
Develops web sites, applications and rich-media experiences based on the general requirements of business stakeholders.
Ensure that work conforms to department standards and industry best practices.
Coordinates programming, testing and maintenance of web portals and applications.
Reviews and validates all developed code has met project specifications and acceptance criteria.
Qualifications
Education:
Junior or senior year bachelor’s student or graduate student in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
Experience/Skills:
Previous experience that demonstrates a strong aptitude for being team-oriented
Innovative problem solving
Self-starter, proactively seeks direction and asks questions to gain clarity
Meticulous attention to detail and organization skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Familiar with application development methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, DevSecOps, and version control
Other:
Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided. Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 - 50%), senior leaders (10 – 20%) or Capella Core Faculty (5 – 10%).
Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs.
If offsite or hybrid role, must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
Faculty and Federal Work Study roles require access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including computer, privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.

Must be able to meet critical thinking and problem solving aspects aligned to job duties, as well as effectively communicating with co-workers.
