Our web services client is looking for an Editor for a fully-remote, 12-month assignment.
Position Overview
We are seeking a creative and dynamic Editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing content curation, driving editorial initiatives, and ensuring high-quality storytelling across various platforms. This position is pivotal in enhancing our digital presence and engaging our audience with timely and relevant content.
Key Responsibilities
- Curate and create compelling content for digital platforms that resonates with the audience.
- Write engaging headlines that attract attention and drive clicks.
- Program and manage video content, ensuring it aligns with editorial strategies and audience interests.
- Utilize push notifications effectively to inform and engage users with breaking news and key updates.
- Cover breaking news stories with accuracy, speed, and a compelling narrative.
- Leverage social media channels to promote content and engage with the audience.
- Lead special projects that enhance our editorial offerings and brand presence.
- Collaborate with development teams to identify growth opportunities and implement innovative solutions.
- Work closely with editorial and product teams to ensure cohesive storytelling and content strategy.
- Plan and execute coverage for tentpole events, ensuring comprehensive reporting and audience engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in editorial roles, preferably in a digital media environment.
- Strong skills in content curation and creation with a focus on audience engagement.
- Exceptional writing and headline crafting abilities.
- Experience with video programming and multimedia content.
- Familiarity with push notifications and their strategic use in news coverage.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and their role in content promotion.
- Ability to manage special projects and collaborate across departments effectively.
- Proven track record of covering breaking news and working under tight deadlines.
- Passion for developing innovative content strategies and driving growth.
