JOB DESCRIPTION
Apex is seeking a Director of IT Business Systems. The position is responsible for the Finance and Human Resource ecosystems - providing functional, operational system support, strategy and governance for financial systems. This includes Peoplesoft, as well as leading current state improvement efforts as the company moves to WorkDay. The individual will coordinate with the Information Finance and Accounting teams, other IT teams, as well as third-party providers to ensure delivery of the service to IT’s internal clients. The role will lead the team responsible for ensuring that the Peoplesoft / WorkDay systems and other ancillary systems are providing timely and accurate reporting of the Company’s financial and HR data results.
• Maintain system performance and appropriate monitoring to ensure quality performance metrics are established and followed.
• Deliver new capabilities through projects and enhancements.
• Drives and delivers Back Office systems strategy.
• Manage Offshore support contract.
• Establishes policies and procedures in coordination within the Information Technology team related to maintenance of the Financial Systems
• Supports all financial systems and partners to establish roles and responsibilities for Interfaces that connect with Financial and HR systems
• Manage a team that maintains the integrity of key master data elements
• Negotiates amendments or new services and any other issues requiring contractual resolution of outsourced support providers
• Collaborates to ensure functional support and patching and upgrade processes for Finance related systems
• Ensures that quality, customer satisfaction, and productivity measurements are tracked and reviewed with the Executive Leadership Team
• Serves as a member of the Architectural Review Committee and Change Approval Board (CAB) and has responsibility and signoff for all financial system changes
• Establishes and maintains communication related to service level reporting, customer survey results and distributes to all related parties to ensure complete transparency of system support and governance
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Management Information Systems is required; Advanced degree such as MBA or MIS is preferred
• 10+ years of accounting experience
• 10+ years overall experience in ERP systems with specific emphasis in the following:
o Experienced in support administration and process improvement
o Experience with system conversions, system upgrades and integrating acquired firms.
o PeopleSoft and Workday experience preferred.
• Managerial experience with large teams
• 10+ years of experience in a leadership role
• Experience in Billing, Payroll/HR, AR, Contracts, Project Costing, Time & Labor, AP, GL, Pay/Bill (Mastery of at least two functional areas)
• Public company experience
• Proven ability to drive change
• Ability to communicate confidently at the highest levels and build meaningful internal and external relationships
• Comfortable working with executive leadership
• Strong experience in systems support, team leadership, as well as establishing and managing service measures to ensure organizational effectiveness
• Individual must be a proven change leader accustomed to working in a dynamic environment
• Demonstrate a track record of delivering effective solutions and systems across multiple companies
• Excellent organizational awareness and proven ability to operate in a matrix environment
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
