WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
The Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis (FPR&A) team contributes to achieving TNC's ambitious 2030 goals through driving key enterprise planning processes, providing timely & value-added analyses and reporting, and serving as respected financial partners enabling strategic decision making and resource allocation. Reporting to the Head of Global FPR&A, the Director of FPR&A develops, drives, and leads key enterprise-wide financial planning processes including quarterly reporting and forecasting, annual planning and budgeting, and multi-year strategic and financial planning for staff, leadership, and the Board of Directors.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU
The Director is responsible for designing and leading the organization successfully through key financial planning processes across multiple time horizons, including maturing quarterly forecasting, evolving annual planning and budgeting, and introducing multi-year planning to strategically allocate resources towards the highest priorities and achieve TNC's ambitious 2030 goals. This position will lead financial systems and analytics, including guiding through a successful implementation and adoption of TNC's new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and leaning into new analytics tools. The Director will also help lead and develop the FPR&A team and participate in and drive key financial and enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and projects.
DIRECTOR ROLE
* Design, develop, and implement strategic, integrated, and collaborative approaches to forecasting, annual and multi-year planning processes for the organization.
* Ensure quarterly financial reviews including reports, analysis, and presentations for the Chief Finance Officer, Executive leadership team (ELT), Trustees, Board, and other groups are convincing, succinct, timely, and accurate.
* Build the recently introduced enterprise-wide quarterly forecasting process to a mature state, ensuring informed projections and assumptions and synthesize into quarterly presentations to the ELT and the Board of Directors.
* Evolve annual planning to anchor in what is most important to accomplish in the next year including earlier alignment on OKRs and priorities, with the budget being the detailed financial component of that plan. Providing clear and consistent guidance at the enterprise level.
* Develop and introduce a collaborative multi-year financial planning process to strategically allocate the organization's financial and human resources towards key enterprise priorities, identify gaps and risks, and clearly communicate to staff, leadership, and the Board.
* Play a key role in important strategic financial and organization-wide initiatives and projects including TNC's future state operating model, redesigning our approach to resource allocation, full cost budgeting and indirect cost recovery, among others.
* Introduces, improves and implements best practices to ensure consistency and clarity of financial planning, reporting and analysis across the enterprise. Seeks to continuously improve processes through soliciting feedback, enabling better coordination.
* Communicates effectively in both written and verbal form, including the ability to synthesize key takeaways, succinctly and convincingly communicate analysis & recommendations, and prepare presentations and reports for senior leaders.
* Serves both in a leadership role within the FPR&A team and a supervisor to four team members providing effective people management, development and support.
GENERAL FPR&A RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
* Provide trusted, respected strategic support through timely and accurate financial reports, projections, models, and analysis to the CFO, Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and key leaders.
* Play a significant role in sound and fact-based strategic decision-making, providing perspective across the enterprise.
* Analyze, identify trends, proactively communicate insights and help prioritize the capital allocation and resource investments to execute on our strategy and goals.
* Clearly communicate financial performance, goals and metrics to senior leaders, the Board of Directors (BOD), and broader organization.
* Continuously raise the bar on our financial insight capabilities/tools and models to meet current and future needs of the organization.
* Work with programs to develop, review and monitor budgets, forecasts and multi-year financial plans for regions, divisions, and business units.
* Assist in the negotiations for complex, high profile, or sensitive agreements and provide financial expertise on special projects.
* Engage in recruitment / training of new finance staff that report to this position or others.
* Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
* Accountable for meeting Finance strategic goals and objectives, including ability to effectively handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines under pressure and be accountable for results.
* Willingness to travel domestically and/or international approximately 10% of the time.
* Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
* Participates in the formulation and evaluation of enterprise-wide organizational policies and standards.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
* Bachelor's degree and 9+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Proven experience in leading and participating in organization-wide multi-year/strategic planning and annual budget processes.
* Experience recruiting, supervising, developing, training and mentoring staff and directing teams of professionals.
* Experience working with GAAP accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
* Experience acting as an advisor to senior executives.
* Experience performing complex financial analysis and financial reporting.
* Experience using and maintaining financial accounting systems and analytical tools.
* Experience conceiving, developing, and managing multiple projects and strategic goals in a large, complex organization.
* Experience conceiving and implementing strategic initiatives.
* Experience, coursework, or other training in principles, practices, and procedures of relevant field.
* Experience recruiting, supervising, and developing staff.
* Experience designing, implementing, and directing multiple complex projects.
* Experience with financial management of an enterprise or sizable organizational unit at a senior level.
* Effectively communicates in verbal, written, and presentation form.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Background in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), corporate finance, accounting, or investment management.
* Analytical and quantitative skills.
* MBA and/or CPA and not-for-profit GAAP accounting experience a plus.
* Advanced understanding of best practices in non-profit management.
* Proficiency in synthesizing materials from multiple sources into a coherent and accurate summary.
* Experience with recruitment, coaching, and training of financial professionals.
* Demonstrable successful experience in developing, directing, and managing multiple projects and implementing strategic program goals.
* Proficiency in working independently as well as jointly with colleagues on a team.
* Ability to motivate, lead, analyze, develop, report, and implement solutions.
* Experience managing a geographically dispersed team. Cross-cultural skills desired.
* Expert knowledge of current and evolving trends in relevant discipline.
* Extensive management experience including ability to motivate, lead, set objectives, and manage performance of a multi-disciplinary team.

SALARY INFORMATION
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $180,000 - $240,000 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
