The Compliance Analyst, Court Procedures works closely with the Assistant General Counsel/Managing Director on legal and regulatory compliance issues related to (i) the administration and fulfillment of client file transfer requests, (ii) the licensure of Firm attorneys including tracking of attorneys’ court admissions and compliance with the firm’s policies relating thereto, and (iii) document collection and review in connection with responding to subpoenas and similar data harvesting requests. He/she also provides assistance and support to the Firm’s Goodwin LED litigation calendaring system, and works with Court Procedures management to facilitate and execute other tasking related to the administration and oversight of the CM/ECF registration process, the Firm’s involvement in certain bankruptcy proceedings, and be a participant in Court Procedures’ CM/ECF electronic filing rotation as needed.
What You Will Do:
Under the direction of the Assistant General Counsel/Managing Director, the Court Procedures Compliance Analyst will:
Administer and maintain the audit system for bar license membership
Research and maintain a database of bar licensure requirements and communicate same to Firm attorneys
Track bar application status for newly transferred or hired attorneys
Monitor and assist with bar license renewals
Respond to inquiries in connection with bar membership requirements
Be responsible for for alerting Firm attorneys to upcoming deadlines related to bar registration and responding to inquiries relating to same
Assist in the annual CA LLP renewal process
Maintain Court Procedures database with bar admissions (including pro hac vice), and electronic filing credentials for litigation attorneys
Assure compliance in linking the Firm’s PAA and individual attorney PACER accounts and spearhead re-registration efforts as needed for PACER NextGen courts
Contribute to execution of the Goodwin LED Workflow queue
Create and maintain a spreadsheet of active bankruptcy matters in which the Firm may be a creditor, to determine the Firm’s involvement and any claim deadlines, and work with Court Procedures management to file proofs of claim in bankruptcy matters
Participate in Court Procedures’ CM/ECF electronic filing rotation
Assist the Compliance Attorney, OGC in the administration and review of client file transfers
Undertake special projects as directed by Court Procedures senior staff
Who You Are:
Bachelor’s degree required. J.D. and relevant pertinent experience highly desirable.
Must have experience in a large law firm setting.
Must have experience working with colleagues in multiple time zones.
Ability to respect, protect and maintain highly confidential information.
Familiar with docketing software (CompuLaw)
Experience in legal industry ideal/compliance role a must.
Excellent communication, research and writing skills.
Knowledge of Workday a plus.
