The Team
We are seeking a Business Data Architect to join American Tower’s global Finance Transformation office. The office leads the continuing evolution of how the Finance team functions and operates, including evaluating data, systems, and processes to ensure optimization. Day to day you will ensure that the organization's finance data are effectively utilized to drive business outcomes and will design, implement, and maintain data architectures that support business objectives. As a Business Data Architect, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders including IT professionals, business leaders, data stewards, and analysts to define and document data requirements, standards, and best practices. You will play a key role in ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and usability across the organization and that data are treated as strategic assets.
What You Can Offer Us
- Design and maintain data architecture models that accurately represent the organization's data to facilitate efficient management and analyses. Represent the data architecture, integration, and modeling function in discussions with key stakeholders.
- Develop and implement data strategies that support business objectives and align with industry best practices. Work with internal business and technical partners on priority programs and projects, advocating a data-first mindset.
- Collaborate with IT teams to develop and maintain a scalable and flexible data architecture framework that aligns with business goals and emerging technologies. Ensure seamless integration and accessibility of data from various sources.
- Document the existing operational data ecosystem to understand impacts of critical data changes including projects, new programs, systems, and/or tools that are prioritized by the company. Deliver lineages, data modeling recommendations, and other collateral as part of information governance, IT, and business process project work.
- Develop a strategy to define, document, and communicate data architecture artifacts. The artifacts should support effective management and the quality of data and be used to drive decisions on how to effectively structure data.
- Support a data governance framework by defining standards, policies, and procedures to ensure quality, integrity, and compliance of data. Collaborate with business and data experts to profile source system data and translate business requirements into data requirements.
- Support information governance in identifying and remediating data quality issues by identifying root causes and solutions that support long-term data management. Help identify opportunities to improve data quality and support efforts to develop a robust data quality oversight program.

What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years working in a business data architecture, data modeling, or similar role required.
- In-depth knowledge of data modeling principles, techniques, and tools required.
- Experience managing enterprise resource planning financial data and utilizing Oracle data structures strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of database management systems, such as SQL and NoSQL, and data warehousing concepts required.
- Proficiency in data governance, metadata management, and master data management practices strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with data integration techniques and data quality management processes preferred.
- Data management or data architecture certification (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional, Data Management Association) preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
